"I fully enjoy all art, however I’m personally compelled to paint with a gist of realism. Achieving that goal is altogether another story. I paint because I enjoy the challenge of the craft and appreciation of those who take pleasure in it. It’s really that simple. Persuing uniquely different subject matter helps keep that challenge fresh and inspirational. I’m constantly looking for a new subject or scene to paint and often find it harder to choose a project than it is to paint it”
"In an environment saturated with modern, impressionistic and abstract art, it seems there may be less appreciation for works of realism. Rarely will you find an exhibit exclusively featuring art of a realistic nature. Perhaps it’s just too definitive for today’s progressive society. Why bother to paint a realist portrait if you can take a photograph. Is it possible that realism has gone by the way of the cassette tape, floppy drive or rotary phone...who knows? I for one hope not. Regardless of the genre, whether abstract, impressionistic or realistic...it's all art and it's all good."
